ETIOLOGY
Genes
There are bits of DNA that scientists found that can alter how your body produces insulin.
Extra Weight
Being overweight or obese, can cause your body to become insulin resistant.
Bad Communication Between Cells
It can happen that sometimes cells can either send the wrong message, or don't pick up messages correctly. This can affects how the cells use or make insulin or glucose, that can lead to diabetes.
Broken Beta Cells
If the beta cells which produce insulin send out the wrong amount of insulin at the wrong time, it can throw your blood sugar levels off.
